Honey, I’m Meximalist
Dear Marie Kondo, let me apologize in advance for the crime that I'm about to commit. Against your well-known will, I'm not interested in making this portfolio a spark-joy kind of place. I'm using yellow, pink, or even orange as part of a whole identity, instead of an immaculate white canvas. Please don't misunderstand me — I'm trying to get my life in order just as you recommend. But when it comes to this website, I'm going to pour myself into it, with everything that represents me as a human being, and even more, as a creative.
So here you'll find the messy evidence of a creative mind at work: the sports journalist who never fully left, the obsession with a well-pulled espresso shot at seven in the morning, the vinyl record that makes a Tuesday feel like something worth remembering. The campaigns that kept me up at night for the right reasons, and a few that kept me up for the wrong ones, too.
This is a portfolio, yes. But it's also a declaration. That creativity isn't a white canvas waiting to be filled — it's everything you are before you even pick up the pen. The references you've accumulated. The cities that shaped you. The clients that challenged you, and the briefs that bored you into brilliance.
Marie, Marie, Marie… I think you'd actually approve of one thing: there's nothing here that doesn't spark joy. It's just that my joy happens to be a bit louder than yours.
